What would you do if the man you're supposed to be spending the rest of your life with is suddenly the devil? When I met Frank, I had thought I'd met the love of my life. I had thought I'd finally found the perfect man. When Frank proposed, I was over the moon.
My world took a nose dive the next morning when I learned that Frank Gala, sexy construction worker, was in fact Francesco Galeazzi, CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation. With some real clear boundaries about Frank's money, I agreed to continue with the wedding plans, hoping I could get used to being married to a man I wasn't sure I ever really knew.
But the world was conspiring against me. Not only did I find myself in a situation I wasn't sure how to handle, but someone had convinced Frank that I was a gold digger. Left out in the cold with a baby on the way, I did the only thing I could do. I began to build a life for me and my child without the father in the picture.
And then the devil came back.
~ Henry ~
"Will you marry me, Henry?"
My breath caught when I saw the gold ring my boyfriend was holding out to me. We'd only been dating for about six months, but I knew deep in my heart of hearts that this was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
Frank Gala was everything I could hope for in a husband. He was strong and powerful, a bit overly protective, but he could also be sweet and kind and the gentlest man I had ever met.
It didn't hurt one bit that Frank was totally drool-worthy. He stood just a few inches taller than me, but his sheer presence made him seem ten feet tall. I always felt safe when Frank was around, as if nothing in the world could hurt me. Not even a falling meteor.
His dark brown hair was cut short on the sides and a little longer on top, but it meshed well with the five o'clock shadow he always seemed to have. With the square jaw he sported, it was actually a very good look for him. He looked all business, but also as if he'd just crawled out of bed after a really good night.
It was Frank's deep chocolate brown eyes that really did it for me. When he was angry, they turned as hard as chipped diamonds. When he was happy, they danced. When he was aroused, they melted like molten lava. When they looked at me, they softened.
That might be my favorite.
"Henry?"
"Yes?" I blinked for a moment and realized I had left the man hanging. "Yes, yes, of course I'll marry you."
I'd be stupid not to.
I grunted at the strength of Frank's hug as I pulled me into his arms. Sometimes, Frank was a little stronger than others. I knew it came from working in the construction industry. Frank lifted heavy stuff pretty much all day long, and the thick corded muscles covering his body attested to that.
"We are going to have such a good life, amore mio," Frank whispered as he slid the ring onto my finger. It was a simple band, no diamonds or emeralds. Just a never ending circle made of solid gold.
It was perfect.
My brow flickered as I leaned back to look up at Frank. "You speak Italian?"
How cool was that?
Frank grinned. "A little here and there."
I wiggled my eyebrows at him before wiggling my ass over his groin. "That could be fun."
''Keep that up, and I'm going to make love to you."
My heart quickened as I considered the threat. We'd had some pretty heavy make out sessions and a couple of mutual blow jobs, but this was a boundary we'd yet to cross. I had said I wanted to wait. I had to be sure of him.
I was an omega, a rare individual with a genetic mutation, which meant I could get pregnant and give birth. I wasn't about to have sex with anyone I wouldn't be sure would stick around for the long haul. I didn't want to raise a child by myself.
I raised my eyes and met Frank's heated stare. "Okay."
Frank's eyebrows lifted. "Do you mean that?"
I nodded and then gasped when Frank rolled, placing me below him. Frank grabbed my arms, pushing them above my head with one hand as the other skimmed down my side.
I shivered at the contact.
Frank's dark brown eyes were intense as he gazed into down at me. I could see them starting to heat, to turn to molten lava. "Do you want me to make love to you, Henry?"
I swallowed tightly and nodded. I had wanted to be claimed by Frank from the moment I'd laid eyes on the man. I had just wanted to wait until I knew he was with me because he truly cared about me and that this wasn't some one-night stand.
The ring on my finger was all the proof I needed.
